Twitter to reportedly add Instagram-like filters to its mobile apps
It looks like Twitter is about to make a pretty significant move on the mobile front. According to a new report, the social network is about to push out an update to its mobile apps that will add the ability for users to upload photos with Instagram-like filters
Survey finds 75% of mini buyers are keeping their 10-inch iPad
In an attempt to get a handle on what kind of people are out buying the iPad mini today, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has been out and about interviewing purchasers of the tablet.
As you might expect, more than half of the early mini adopters that he talked to already owned a larger iPad. But somewhat surprisingly, more than 75% of them plan on keeping it
Apple tweaks the Podcasts app
Apple’s (mostly) hated Podcasts app that launched in the summer last received an update in September, finally bringing iOS 6 compatibility, iCloud subscription syncing, the ability to automatically download new episodes only when on Wi-Fi and more. Earlier today, a new version surfaced on iTunes. Podcasts 1.1.2, an incremental update, includes stability and performance improvements, bug fixes and a few enhancements.
That’s one hell of a multitouch radio for your ride
As you may have heard, Apple’s iPad mini finally went on sale earlier today. Some of you no doubt picked it up directly at your local Apple store (hope you didn’t have to stand in line outside the Fifth Avenue store). Others might still be biting their nails anxiously awaiting that USP truck. If you’re busy playing with or imagining handling Apple’s shiny new toy, why not make some room in your car’s dashboard so you can easily slide the iPad mini in and out? Look no further than Soundwaves of Tampa, which custom-built a dash in a 2012 Toyota Corolla. Video is right below

Media mogul Mark Cuban talks future of Apple TV
Mark Cuban, for those who haven’t heard of him, is a self-made billionaire. He owns the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, Landmark Theaters and Magnolia Pictures. Needless to say when he talks, people listen.
iPhone 5 gets regulatory approval in China
According to a new report, the China State Radio Management agency, one of China’s regulatory agencies, has just given Apple’s iPhone 5 the go-ahead for sale in the country.
The news comes about a month after the handset received approval from the China Compulsory Certificate, and about a month ahead of its scheduled December launch
The first iPad mini and 4th gen iPad reviews hit the web
While most of us have to wait until Friday to get our hands on the new iPad mini, a select group of journalists have been using the tablet since Apple unveiled it last Tuesday.
These writers were given early access to the device so they could post full-length reviews before it launches later this week. And a lot of those reviews just went live
Unofficial Lightning docks arrive
As Apple prepares to convene with accessory makers next month in order to lay out new rules pertaining to third-party Lightning gear, companies like iPhone5mod continue to exploit the supply-demand imbalance in order to produce unofficial accessories like cables and adapters that all use cracked Lightning chips.
Apple delays iTunes 11 for a month to ‘get it right’
That’s right, no new iTunes on Halloween for you! As you know, Apple promised to release iTunes 11, a major overhaul, by the end of October. Now it seems yesterday’s management re-shuffling has affected the release schedule a bit as the company said today that iTunes is “is taking longer than expected”.

How green is the iPad mini?
In the run up to last week’s iPad mini event, we heard multiple rumors claiming that Apple’s new tablet would come in multiple colors, like the iPod touch. But obviously, the speculation never materialized.
Like other iPads and iPhones before it, the iPad mini only comes in two colors: white and black. There is, however, one other color that folks seem to be concerned about: green. How green is the iPad mini?
Initial pre-order stock of black 16GB iPad mini gone
Bad news for folks who haven’t pre-ordered their iPad mini yet, it looks like the initial stock of all of the entry-level models are gone. White versions sold out shortly after pre-orders began Friday morning, and black 16GB minis sold out today.
This means that if you are hoping to score one of the aforementioned tablets on launch day, you’ll have to head to your local Apple Store
How to hide the status bar in Safari, no jailbreak required
Rag3Hack is at it again. Hot on the heels of his non-jailbreak solution for hiding stock iOS apps, comes a new trick that allows you to hide the status bar in Safari. This is useful because it allows you to gain more screen real estate since there’s no full screen mode in portrait mode.
Take a look at our video demonstration inside for more details on Rag3Hack’s latest
iPad vs Surface boot speed test
Just a few minutes ago, I pitted the newly released Microsoft Surface against the 3rd generation iPad with Retina Display. Keep in mind that neither tablet is a slouch when it comes to specs, and that this isn’t exactly a scientific test. Still, some of you might be surprised as to which tablet came out on top in a cold boot speed test.
Record labels reportedly unhappy with Apple’s radio service proposal
By now, you’ve probably heard the rumors that Apple is working on a Pandora-like internet radio service. Yesterday, Bloomberg added to the speculation, saying that a deal with record labels could be reached by mid-November.
But according to a follow-up report, that may not be the case. Apparently, some record executives haven’t been particularly impressed with the revenue sharing proposal. And they want Apple to sweeten the deal before they sign
