Skype users rejoice! The video calling service just updated its iPhone and iPad apps, bringing the mobile client to version 4.1. The update includes a handful of bug fixes and a new photo sharing feature.
That’s right, users with the latest version of the app will now be able to send and receive photos…
From the app’s change log:
What’s New in Version 4.1
Send and receive photos
Updated privacy setting
Fixed bug related to Bluetooth and calls
Minor visual improvements across the app
Other minor bug fixes
To use the new photo sharing feature, both you and your targeted contact must be set up for Skype’s instant messaging service. And as usual, the contact must be online to accept any messages.
Even if you’re not interested in the photo sharing, frequent Skype users may still want to update. The company says that the various enhancements in 4.1 improve the app’s battery performance.
New users can find the latest version of Skype, for both the iPhone and the iPad, in the App Store for free.
